All the medical workers wanting to practice medicine in Wyoming should have a Medical License issued by the Wyoming Medical Board.
In order to be granted a license, the applicant must confirm his educational background that meets the Wyoming Medical Board’s criteria as well as take an accredited exam.
Meeting the state’s requirements and passing the state exam provided by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates is vital for obtaining the license.
First, before starting the application process you must have graduated from AOA or LCME accredited school of medicine. For international applicants, this criteria can be replaced by the certificate of the Educational Commission on Foreign Medical Graduates.
Second, you need to have no less than 2 years of postgraduate training experience in a program accredited by the RVPSC, AOA or ACGME. International applicants should have completed a Fifth Pathway or be certified by ECFMG.
You have to create a FCVS profile as well and fill in the above-mentioned information. The final step is to submit the application to the Wyoming Medical Board.
The required fee is 600$. During the process you must be in Wyoming for a personal interview. Applications must be submitted at least 15 days before the Wyoming Board of Medicine meets. Usually, the meetings take place in January, April, July and October.
Note: Medical Board issues licenses to those who have scored no less than 75 of all parts of the licensing exam.
